University of the Philippines Diliman (UP DIliman) registered a 100% passing rate with all of its graduates passing the October 2019 Metallurgical Engineer Licensure Examination administered by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
All 26 graduates of the UP Diliman College of Engineering Department of Mining, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (COE-DMMME) passed the examination given by the Board of Metallurgical Engineering in Manila and Cagayan de Oro this October 2019.
The last time UP Diliman had a 100 percent passing rate was in the August 2013 examinations, where the state university occupied all top 10 spots.
Six of the 26 board passers from UP Diliman were in the top 11 examinees in the PRC results released on October 18, 2019. The UP topnotchers are:
- Bryan Patrick Carrasco (2nd, 83.25%)
- Kielvin Jon Miguel (3rd, 82.454%)
- Regan Abram Leonardo (4th, 81.9%)
- Ninna Joyce Delantar (5th, 81.8%)
- Sergi Bantay (7th, 81.05%)
- Karl Justine Abang (8th, 80.70%)
Only 68 out of 94 examinees from UP Diliman, Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU), and Mapua University – Manila passed the latest Metallurgical Engineer Licensure Examination.
MSU led the topnotchers with Earl Dave Madridondo Tulabing in the top spot with 86.15% and Dexter Ranises Madjos in shared second with 83.25%. Three other MSU graduates completed the school’s topnotchers. MSU had a passing rate of 62.5%. Mapua had a 50% passing rate.

The University of the Philippines had the same 100% passing rate in recent licensure examinations for Librarians and Electrical Engineers.
UP graduates were also top board passers in the recent examinations for Foresters (Top 1, UPLB) and Certified Public Accountants.
