The Philippine islands of Boracay, Palawan, and Cebu are among the 25 Best Islands in the World topping the Travel + Leisure (T+L) World’s Best Awards survey for 2022.

The popular travel destinations in the archipelagic nation of over 7,640 islands are once again named in the annual best-of-list released in July by the New York-based travel magazine.

“The best islands in the world, according to Travel + Leisure readers, invite visitors to adopt a slower pace of life,” wrote Rebecca Ascher-Walsh in the T+L feature published on July 12. “Readers rated islands according to their activities and sights, natural attractions and beaches, food, friendliness, and overall value,” T+L adds.

Boracay had undergone massive rehabilitation and redirection towards more ecology-friendly tourism activities.
