Actors Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, and their Team Alpha trained with the Philippines’ Special Forces to prepare for their roles as military soldiers in the country’s adaptation of Descendants of the Sun.

The Philippines’ Descendants of the Sun Team Alpha including Dingdong Dantes, Rocco Nacino, Jon Lucas, Prince Clemente, Lucho Ayala, and Paul Salas, underwent 26 hours of Special Forces Training in Fort Magsaysay, Santa Rosa in Nueva Ecija province.

GMA Network, producers of the Philippine production of the South Korean hit television military drama series, released the video of the cast where the actors were seen training alongside the military soldiers.

Dantes and Nacino revealed on the video the challenges they faced at the camp to keep up with the soldiers at training.

The actors were seen talking about how they overcame fears, honed endurance, and built rapport as a team while undergoing camp training.

Talking about the value of their military training Dingdong Dantes said, “Kailangan naming i-internalize at physically maramdaman, kahit papaano, ‘yung pinagdadaanan nila.”

Dingdong Dantes is playing the character of Capt. Lucas Manalo code-named “Big Boss” originally played by Halyu star Song Joong Ki. The actor earlier paid respects to the military soldiers he met during training. Rocco Nacino essays the role of Technical Sergeant Diego Ramos, the best buddy of Dantes’ character.
