Young Pinoy students won a total of 8 music awards at the 2019 Asia Pacific Arts Festival (APAF) Music Competition in Singapore.

Seven Filipino music students scored 4 golds and 4 silver medals at the 2019 APAF where 12 countries vied for awards during four days of competitions from August 9-12 held at the Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, Empress Place in Singapore.

The Philippine representatives were the best students selected from among hundreds of students at the Brazil Academy for Music and Arts of Ayala Alabang in Metro Manila.

Kristine Brazil Espinoza, Music Director of the Brazil Academy, shared to Good News Pilipinas how the school’s professional music teachers and performers trained the winning students.

“The winning students have been training for years. If we see such talent and perseverance by the students, we make sure to teach them really well so they can be good individuals. Music not only teaches music… It teaches concentration, focus, determination, and many more,” shared Espinoza about their winning formula.
