Labor Day Filipino Work Home gig
Work at Home offers a platform for skilled Filipinos to offer services while under lockdown or in the “new normal” work situation.

The new “Work at Home” gig portal has opened on Labor Day for Filipinos who are in lockdown or preparing for the “new normal” of work-from-home situations brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Work at Home” which presents itself as a “talent marketplace helping Pinoy artists & freelancers to earn during COVID-19”, works like cloud working or a remote office.

The tech-based solution is intended for people with skills who opt to work as freelancers or need to be able to work remotely.

“Work at Home” is the third tech platform developed by Seoul-based Filipino IT and multimedia artist, Nash Ang, following the Pinoy California home delivery app and the Pinoy Seoul Radio for overseas Filipinos.

Ang shared with Good News Pilipinas that the jobs app was set up with the Philippines in mind as a developing country with strict lockdown rules.

“It’s a platform where you can actually post your talent and earn. The gigs themselves will be posted by the user,” explains Ang.

The multi-awarded filmmaker from the Philippines said he realized there are more jobs needed now because of mass layoffs and the slowing down of the economy as a result of the public health crisis.

“Yung Pinoy California call for volunteers, we needed less than 10. But in less than a week we had more than 500 applicants,” recalls Ang when they published a call for volunteers that targets call center agents in lockdown areas in the Philippines.

Work at Home gigs from artists, tech professionals, essential workers, and students can be found on the gig platform.

The following are the gigs welcomed on the “Work at Home” platform:

FOR PINOY ARTISTS

An opportunity for Filipino musicians, designers, actors, singers, dancers, visual artists etc. to showcase their skills and earn from their talents.

FOR TECH PROFESSIONALS

A freelancer community with diverse specialties in tech such as web design, programming, customer service, content creation, and digital marketing.

FOR ESSENTIAL WORKERS

Offline professionals from teachers, doctors, haircutters, and even plumbers can post their skills to connect with more clients in your nearby area.

FOR STUDENTS

Promote your skills. Can you tutor or help others with their homework? Earn extra income during the “new normal” without having to leave your home.
