Disney Princess-legend Lea Salonga is joining a whole new world as a member of the all-star voice cast of Netflix’s upcoming animated musical, “Centaurworld.”
The multi-award-winning actress and Broadway icon who was the singing voice behind the hit songs of Disney princesses Jasmine of Aladdin (A Whole New World) and Mulan (Reflection), was announced to be one of the voices in the children’s animated series.
The Filipina icon shared the new trailer for the show and announced her involvement in the series via Twitter on June 17, 2021.
“Yahooooo! Been sitting on this for more than a year! This was a blast to work on! Hoping I get to see all the voice actors in person at some point and get to hug their necks!” Lea Salonga said.

Salonga’s role in the series has yet to be announced but some fans have guuessed that her voice could be heard in the last 30 seconds of the trailer.
Salonga joins fellow seasoned theater actors Jessie Mueller, Megan Hilty, Kimiko Glenn, Renée Elise Goldsberry, and Brian Stokes Mitchell in the kids’ show, which will have its global premiere on the popular video streaming platform on July 30.
The cast also includes Josh Radnor, Parvesh Cheena, Megan Nicole Dong, and Chris Diamantopoulos.
According to the show’s synopsis on Netflix, “Centaurworld” is about a fearless warhorse who journeys across the land to reunite with her trusty rider, stumbling into a whimsical world filled with magic, adventure, and singing centaurs in the process.
The renowned singer from the Philippines recently starred in the musical drama film “Yellow Rose” with Eva Noblezada, and Filipino actress Princess Punzalan.
