Meet Ciara Velasco Gan, a Filipina teen who recently graduated from high school at Colegio San Agustin in Makati, and whose gorgeous hand-painted graduation ball dress has caught the attention of nearly 400 thousand netizens.
Gan is a 17-year-old talented graphic designer, Illustrator, and mural painter. On April 8 she went on social media to announce her wearing her own gown creation for her graduation ball.
“I painted over 80 flowers, sewed + stoned my dress with my mama and designed the whole thing myself!” Gan proudly tweeted.
On Instagram Ciara added that she used “13 yards of fabric, lots of stoning, structure, patience, and a whole lotta support from my momma, i made it!
It was so fun creating my own gradball dress from scratch.”
Before the big reveal at her grad ball held at the Shangri-La at The Fort, Ciara gave her followers a sneak peak into her creation with a picture of the dress model which she made in 2018.
“I made this little dress model out of curiosity during the summer of last year hopefully this lil thing turns into reality tomorrow”
Ciara also posted gown creation process pictures on Instagram.
In media interviews following her going viral on social media, Ciara says she has received inquiries for commissions to create more of her art.
