Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo’s bid for the country’s 5th win in the pageant is receiving massive support with over 100 Filipino fashion designers collaborating to create her wardrobe.

Rabiya has started showcasing not just her beauty and wit but also her outfits created by local designers from all over the Philippines since she left the country on April 10, 2021, to start her Miss Universe campaign.

For her pre-departure outfit, the Iloilo-born beauty queen wore an ensemble of modern barong with pearl and crystal embellishments and black trousers called Holy Mother of Pearls, a collaboration of Chino Cristopherson and Marc Ramsay.

A few hours later, Rabiya arrived in Los Angeles, California wearing a printed blazer dress designed by Nono Palmos.

Rabiya also delighted the pageant fans with her Day 2 outfit, a Marlon Tuazon-designed semi-backless blue-green pantsuit with Filipiniana sleeves embellished with pearls and seashells trimmings.

For her pre-pageant special shoot for O Skin Care and Luxury Spa, the 24-year-old Filipina-Indian beauty wowed her fans online while wearing a blush pink dress designed by Veejay Floresca.

A GMA News report said that stylists Em Millan and Rain Dagala asked help from professional organizer Issa Reyes of Neat Obsessions to make sure Rabiya’s wardrobe is organized, labeled, and well-packed as she competes in the international beauty derby.

The 69th edition of Miss Universe is set to be held on May 16 (May 17 Philippine time) at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, U.S.A.

Rabiya Mateo aims to continue the line of Filipino Miss Universe titleholders, following the reign of Gloria Diaz (1969), Margie Moran-Floirendo (1973), Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach (2015), and Catriona Magnayon Gray (2018).
