The Philippines’ boys and girls basketball teams repeated their 2018 feats and won the gold at the 2019 ASEAN School Games in Indonesia.
Team Pilipinas Boys Basketball team was declared back-to-back champions in the 11th ASEAN School Games, repeating their first-place finish in 2018, after winning against Indonesia in the finals held on July 23.
Team Pilipinas Girls Basketball team also won gold, becoming 3-peat champions in the ASEAN School Games basketball championships after besting Thailand also on July 23.
Team Philippines picked up a total of 33 medals at the 2019 ASEAN School Games held July 17 to 25 in Semarang.
The Philippines medal tally at the 11th ASEAN School Games:
- 4 Golds – Basketball Boys (1), Basketball Girls (1), Athletics (1), Swimming (1)
- 7 Silvers – Athletics (4), Swimming (2), Volleyball (1)
- 22 Bronze – Athletics (4), Badminton (2), Pencak Silat (7), Sepak Takraw (2), Swimming (5), Table Tennis (2)
