How about sending vegetable bouquets instead of flowers this Valentine’s Day?

Community pantry mover Ana Patricia “Patreng” Non started selling vegetable bouquets ahead of the annual love celebration day and successfully raised funds for struggling Filipino farmers.

Patreng Non encouraged kind-hearted donors to show their love to local farmers by supporting her new initiative.

“Sa padating na Valentine’s Day maaari pa natin i-extend ang pagmamahal natin sa iba mula sa pagbili natin ng gulay bouquet sa Community Pantry PH,” Ana Patricia Non wrote in a Facebook post on February 6, 2023.

The Woman of Courage Awardee said that each “gulay” or vegetable bouquet weighs five kilograms and costs 1,500 pesos.

All proceeds from the sale will directly go toward Filipino farmers. They will also help fund the vegetable rescue operations being done by the community pantry team.

The maximum number of orders have already been reached for Non’s vegetable bouquets, as of this writing.

Buyers can still help out Filipino farmers by pre-ordering white onions from San Jose, Nueva Ecija.

Those interested in buying fresh produce such as onions from Nueva Ecija farmers can order through this form shared by Non on her official Facebook page.

Non founded the Maginhawa Community Pantry initiative which sparked a nationwide movement among Filipinos in 2021 to help one another amid hardships and quarantine restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Filipino social enterprises also helped farmers get food to consumers during the community quarantine enforced in Metro Manila and nearby areas.
