Mindanao, the new movie directed by award-winning filmmaker Brillante Mendoza and written by Honee Alipio, is set to have its European Premiere at the 23rd POFF Talinn Black Nights Film Festival this November 15 to December 1.

The award-winning film director’s new movie, top-billed by Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo and Allen Dizon, will be screened in one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe and the busiest regional industry platforms that hosts more than 1000 guests and industry delegates and over 160 journalists.

The 2019 POFF Talinn Black Nights Film Festival is scheduled to have the Mindanao screenings on November 19 at the Kino Artis, Saal 1 and November 21 at the Coca-Cola Plaza, Saal 7.

Mindanao, an official entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), screens in Europe following its successful world premieres in October at the 24th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea and at the 32nd Tokyo International Film Festival in Japan.

Other Filipino films also set compete in film festivals abroad include “Mina-Anud” of Dennis Trillo and “Yellow Rose” of Lea Salonga and Eva Noblezada – both competing at the 2019 Hawaii International Film Festival which runs until November 17.

The “Aswang” documentary of Alyx Ayn Arumpac has been selected for the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) Competition for First Appearance from November 20 to December 1.
