GoodNewsPilipinas.com Managing Editor Angie Quadra Balibay is set to speak at Philippine Christian University (PCU) Dasmariñas on May 14, 2025, where she will showcase how AI tools and digital media shape empowering stories about Filipinos.
Balibay brings over two decades of media experience and a decade of leading Good News Pilipinas, the top-ranked good news platform in the country. She plans to share how embracing media convergence and innovation transformed her journey as a journalist and educator.
“I started teaching in universities in the year 2000 as a broadcast media professional, but I already saw the reality of media convergence,” she says.
“Last year marked 10 years of shaping stories that make Filipinos proud.”
In her talk, Balibay recalls how she helped bring a campus radio station online through Facebook, YouTube, and a website, and how in 2014 she began creating content for global clients. Within a year, she joined Good News Pilipinas, which went on to win a Gold Anvil Award for Best Publication and rank #13 among global good news sites.
The session, organized by the Arts and Sciences Society—PCU Dasmariñas at the 7th Floor Convention Center, New Academic Building, PCU-D, includes a visual showcase of AI-driven newsroom tools used at GoodNewsPilipinas.com. It aims to encourage students to embrace technology and tell stories that inspire pride in Filipino identity.
