The Philippines’ fourth Filipina Miss Universe, Catriona Gray, celebrated her birthday with a wish for people to help her get Filipino kids with cleft palate their needed surgeries.

The 2018 Miss Universe wrapped up her beauty pageant reign as ambassadress of the Miss Universe Organization’s charities in December 2019 but is still passionately pursuing with her mission as an advocate for children’s welfare.

On her birthday on January 6, as Catriona posted an Instagram photo of her forthcoming Madame Tussauds project, Gray also posted on Facebook her birthday wish.

“My birthday wish ✨ thank you everyone for all the birthday love! This year I’m raising funds for @smiletrainph to help give Filipino children a smile this 2020. You can donate via gogetfunding.com/catrionagivesasmile/ 😁💙
My goal is to raise 500,000 Pesos / $9000 in one week that equates to 36 life changing surgeries. 🙏 thank you!”

The crowdfunding site states that the fundraising project will be directly donated to the non-profit organisation, Smile Train Philippines.

Just before her birthday the Filipino-Australian Catriona Gray had also asked for prayers and assistance for Australia which is being ravaged by bush fires that has claimed millions of forest acres, the lives of half a billion animals including the Koalas, with a death toll of 20 expected to rise.

⁣Gray asked for help and donations to charities to support this site and @NSWRFS: to help the volunteer firefighters battling on the frontline, @WIRESWILDLIFERESCUE to help the wildlife victims, and @SALVOSAU to help families & communities affected by the fires with food, resources.
