“I’ll be dancing my way learning and traveling in Bulgaria this coming July and proud to represent my dance family Parangal and our country Philippines at Vitosha international festival in Bulgaria,” Solano said in a message to GoodNewsPilipinas.com.

Solano also shared that he will be participating in the International Folklore Festival “The Folklore Magic” from July 18 to 22, 2021 in the town of Mezdra, and in the International Folklore Festival “Srebarna Pafta” happening on July 22 to 24, 2021 in Kyustendil.

“I stand on the shoulders of our indigenous culture bearers and elders sharing their teachings and keep my Parangal Pamilya in my mind and heart in my journey. Lakbay Natin to!” Eric Solano added.

The Filipino artistic director will be performing dances of Maguindanaon, Ta’u Sug, and Yakan people of Mindanao, and plans to showcase indigenous attires of Kalinga, Panay Bukidnon, Agusan Manobo, Meranao, Ata Bagobo, and Talaandig.

Solano’s folk dance group has been actively participating in various festivals around the world to represent the country and to showcase its rich culture.

In 2020, Parangal showcased Maranao dances at the digital edition of Dorin Oancea 2020 International Folk Dance Festival in Romania and was one of the participating teams to receive the Best in Choreography Award.

The Pinoy dance group represented the Philippines in Mexico in 2019 for the 455th anniversary of the Manila-Acapulco galleon trade celebration.

Parangal was invited to Colombia in 2018 to perform for the first time at the Folclórico Internacional de Barraquilla Estefania Caicedo along with the dance troupes from the Latin countries.
