PH team wins 5 World Taekwondo Golds

PH team wins 5 gold, 5 silver at World Taekwondo tilt The Philippines won 5 gold medals and 5 silver medals at the World Taekwondo Culture Exposition in Muju, South Korea held in July.

The country’s winning representatives include:

  • Ceasar Basilio – Gold medal, under 35 years-old 2nd Dan Black Belt
  • Micah Torres – Gold medal, under 16 years-old Brown Belt
  • Algenne Amiruddin – Silver medal, under 16 years-old 1st Dan Black Belt
  • Marry Amiruddin – Silver, under 14 years-old red belt
  • Don Mustapha Loong II – Silver, under 10 years-old brown belt
  • Saeed Faris Loong – Silver, under 8 years-old red belt

The Taekwondo Expo took place in Muju, Jeollabuk-do Province, where taekwondo was founded.

The yearly tournament brought together around 2,000 athletes from countries in Asia, Australia, Europe, America, Middle East, and Africa.
