Team Philippines won a total of 4 medals in Thailand. Credits Philippine Rowing Association.

Team Philippines rowed towards 1 gold, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze medal finish at the 2019 Asian Rowing Coastal Championships held in Thailand.

Women rowers Joanie Delgaco and Melcah Caballero of the Philippine Rowing Association scored Gold in the CW2x Women’s Double Sculls competition held from September 20-22 in Pattaya.

Men rowers won silver in the Solo and Double Sculls competitions while the Philippines 5-member team bagged the third place in the Quadruple Sculls.

Here are the Filipino medalists of the Asian Rowing Coastal Championships:

Gold
CW2x (Women’s Double Sculls) – Joanie Delgaco & Melcah Caballero

Silver
CM1x (Men’s Solo) – Roque Abala
CM2x (Men’s Double Sculls) – Zuriel Sumintac & Nestor Cordova

Bronze
CM4x+ (Men’s Coxed Quadruple Sculls) – Edgar Ilas, John Oliver Patanao, Dennis Armenio, Cris Nievarez, & Ma. Concepcion Fornea

The Philippine Rowing team is training to compete in the 30th South East Asian Games to be held in the Philippines on November 30-December 11, 2019.

Filipino athletes are training and setting their sights on the 30th SEA Games and the 2020 Olympics. Recent notable results are the championships won by pole vaulter Ernest “EJ” Obiena and medal finishes by weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz.

Dragonboat teams from the Philippines have also brought home medals from their recent competitions in Thailand and Canada.
