Global sustainability champion Janice Lao is featured on trading cards that showcase Science, Technology, Education, and Mathematics (STEM) Stars.

Janice Lao is among the featured scientists in the trading card series released in July by Science Delivered, a science education non-profit providing quality science enrichment to K-12 students in the United States.

Lao was introduced in the series as “a STEM Star environmental scientist with a business background. She helps businesses be more sustainable and is featured in the book STEM Superheroes.”

The Edie Awardee is one of the 26 featured scientists in Erin Twamley’s new book, “Everyday Superheroes: Women in STEM Careers.”

Janice Lao is one of the 6 women scientists from the Everyday Superheroes book chosen to appear on the STEM Stars trading cards.

The 40-year-old director of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability for The Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels was hailed by Forbes magazine as a top global sustainability leader for 2018.

Lao has also mentored fellow Filipinos at the PH Time Is Now conferences.

Janice Lao briefly visited the Philippines this week to talk about teaching math at home at “The Homeschool Toolbox: A Pre-Philippine Homeschool Convention (PHC) Event.” She spoke to Early Bird participants of the September 7 Philippine Homeschool Convention as part of her advocacy to share with Filipino parents the tools she herself uses to introduce a love for STEM to her own children.
