Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) is welcoming passengers with the world-renowned Pinoy warmth and embrace.
MCIA, the 2019 International Architecture Awards winner for its iconic design, heralded the rainy days in the Philippines by offering free hugs to arriving passengers.
Demonstrating its tagline, “Welcome to the Friendliest Gateway to Your Destination,” MCIA had previously surprised passengers with Philippine history icons’ statues suddenly coming to life and interacting with guests.
The 2018 Asia Pacific Medium Airport of the Year started offering the free hugs to travelers arriving at the airport terminal announcing the offer, “Experience the warmth of Cebu the moment you land at MCIA. We have FREE HUGS for everyone to give you warmth this rainy season!”
MCIA is shortlisted for the 2019 World Architecture Festival Awards in Amsterdam to be held in December.
