Lea Salonga and Ryan Cayabyab have been confirmed as working together on the theme song of the 30th South East Asian (SEA) Games.

The music collaboration between the multi-awarded Filipina Broadway star and the Philippines’ National Artist for Music was teased on social media by the 2019 SEA Games Organizing Committee on August 24.

“We are honored to be collaborating with the best names in the industry and are very grateful to them for sharing their talents — which you will hear very soon,” went the caption on a photo of Salonga and Cayabyab in a recording studio.

A teaser video of behind-the-scenes footage of the studio recording with the Grammy-nominated and Tony award-winning musical theatre star singing the lines, “We Win As One” – the official theme of this year’s SEA Games – was posted on a Facebook Page of the fans of Lea Salonga.

Ryan Cayabyab, the 2019 Ramon Magsaysay Awardee for championing Original Pilipino Music, was also seen in the music video supervising the recording.

Apl de Ap and the Black Eyed Peas were also recently confirmed to be collaborating with Cayabyab as part of the 2019 SEA Games opening and closing ceremonies.

The 30th SEA Games biennial sports meet will be hosted by the Philippines from November 30 to December 11, 2019.
