Olympics Results for Team Philippines, August 6, 2021: The Philippines’ golf medal bet, Yuka Saso, moved up 14 spots to the joint top 20 while Bianca Pagdanganan slid down by 2 notches in the Women’s Individual Stroke Round 3.

YUKA SASO (Golf)

Yuka Saso continues to bring up her standings in the Women’s Individual Stroke, moving up another 14 notches to joint Top 20 as Round 3 wrapped up on Friday.

Saso fired 4-under par 67, an improvement on her 68 the previous day when she moved up 13 notches to joint 34th place.

The first Filipina to win the US Women’s Open has steadily improved on her standings since Round 1 when she placed at 47th place after delivering a 3-over par 74.

Yuka Saso bears a record of 209 points after three rounds.

The Filipino-Japanese golf sensation officially booked her Tokyo Olympics berth in June, joining golfers Juvic Pagunsan and Bianca Pagdanganan after completing the KPMG Women’s Professional Gold Association (PGA) Tournament in the United States.

BIANCA PAGDANGANAN (Golf)

Bianca Pagdanganan slid down another 2 notches to joint 29th place at the end of Round 3 with 2-under par 71.

Pagdanganan also slid down 2 spots to a tie for 27th place in Round 2 where she fired off another 2-under par for 71.

Bianca Pagdanganan started strong on her bid for the Philippines’ first Olympic medal in golf, wrapping up Round 1 of the Women’s Individual Stroke Play tied for 7th place with 69.

Pagdanganan scored 211 points after three rounds of golf.

The Filipina golfer booked a trip to Japan through the second qualification quota after placing 42nd in the world rankings.

The Olympics golf tournament continues to its last round on Saturday.
