How many Filipino fathers do you know who can successfully balance their work and family life? Fathers who overcome the challenge deserve to be called “inspirational.”
The month of June honors the sacrifices and contributions of these men with Father’s Day, much like how mothers are celebrated in May.
This occasion started in the Middle Ages as a celebration for the feast day of Saint Joseph, the husband of Mary and father of Jesus Christ, every March 19. The tradition was brought to the United States in the 20th century and was changed to every month of June.
Father’s Day provides an opportunity for families and society to remember the countless reasons to be thankful for fathers – such as their being good role models, advisers, and providers for their children.
As the world celebrates this special day made for fathers, Good News Pilipinas came up with a list of inspirational Filipino celebrity dads – a broadcast journalist, a boxing champion, a popular actor, a brand endorser, and a basketball player – who effectively balance their time for family and work.
