The upcoming Blue’s Clues movie will star the popular children’s television series’ three hosts from across the years – the original Steve, Joe, and current host Filipino-American actor Josh Dela Cruz.
“Blue’s Big City Adventure” will bring the three generations of Blue’s Clues hosts – Steve Burns (Steve), Donovan Patton (Joe), and Dela Cruz (Josh) – for one big adventure in the upcoming animation and live-action hybrid movie.
Paramount announced on February 15, 2022, that the movie will follow “Blue’s Clues & You” host Josh and Blue herself as they head to New York City, with the help of Steve and Joe, to audition for a big Broadway musical.

The popular animated series for preschoolers which first aired in 1996 until 2002 originally starred Steve Burns and a blue girl puppy on a puzzle adventure.
After Burns left the show, Donovan Patton took over as Steve’s brother, Joe, until 2006.
Nickelodeon revived the series in 2019 as “Blue’s Clues & You” hosted by Joshua Dela Cruz as Josh, which also features the recurring characters of Steve and Joe.
The television series has also paid homage to host Dela Cruz’s Filipino roots by bringing Pinoy culture and traditions to the show through his “Lola” or Filipino grandmother.
Dela Cruz also referenced “Spider-Man: No Way Home” on his official Instagram account after media outlets and fans began comparing the new Blue’s Clues movie to the Marvel Cinematic Universe film.
The Spider-Man film which also boasts Filipino representation brought together three Spidermans from its film franchise.
“Blue’s Big City Adventure” is set to premiere on Paramount Plus later this year.
Filipino-American Grammy winner H.E.R. recently guest-starred in a special episode “Blue’s Clues & You”.
