Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart has praised Manila as an inspiring place to visit, a day after she arrived for her first visit in the Philippines.

The inspirational entrepreneur, America’s first female self-made billionaire, spent her first vacation day in the Philippines on a tour of Manila’s famous landmarks, museums, century-old churches, and sampling Filipino food.

On August 20, Stewart’s second day in the country, the media icon posted on social media a snapshot of her preparing for the ABS-CBN’s ANC Leadership talk and wrote about her gratitude to be invited to the Philippines.

“Thank you for inviting me to where I have never been to before. The vitality and friendliness of Manila are inspiring,” wrote Stewart on her Instagram.

At her leadership talk, Stewart talked about how she prepared for her visit and what she has enjoyed.

“On my way here on the plane, I read the entire history of the Philippines. I think you have beautiful things here, from the little that I have seen so far. The lechon, that baby pig is wonderful!” Martha Stewart shared.

“We’ve been entertained so beautifully in the Philippines at the National Museum of Natural History with a spread of fabulous food. It was so incredible,” Stewart said.

The successful author of lifestyle and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) tips revealed she was considering sourcing Filipino products for her home furnishings product line.

“Because I think you do beautiful work here… I love the textiles, the rattan work, the weavings, the pearls, and some of the metalwork is so beautiful,” Stewart said about the Filipino products she has seen.

The business leader also revealed that she loves working with her Filipina editor on her daily blog, The Martha Blog.

“She works on the blog with me, uploading all the beautiful photos and editing. She’s Filipino! And she hasn’t been home in 20 years,” said Stewart about her editor, Jocelyn Santos.

Stewart also recently posted on social media about her trying out a brioche recipe from the new cookbook of James Beard Awards-finalist Filipino pastry chef Margarita Lorenzana-Manske of LA’s Republique restaurant.

Martha Stewart is scheduled today to visit Pampanga today.
